Pushpa 2: The Rule is a tailor-made role and film for Allu Arjun to unleash his full potential. But the complaint from the critics is that just to elevate Pushpa’s character, director Sukumar did not design the other characters properly. One such example is the role played by Fahadh Faasil. For the introduction he has got in the first part, people expected him to be the right villain in the second part.
Cut to the present, many opined that the role of Fahadh In Pushpa is inconsistent and he was completely under utilised. Fahadh‘s 20-minute characterization in the first part of Pushpa stands out as more impactful compared to his portrayal in Pushpa 2, which is true.
At times, his role in the sequel felt more like a comedian or joker rather than a strong opponent for Pushpa. Now, it reminds all of us that Fahadh is very clear from the beginning that it is not any gamechanging character for him. In one of his recent interviews, Fahadh already revealed that Pushpa does nothing to him and he did the film only for the opportunity to collaborate with Sukumar.
“I don’t think Pushpa has done anything to me. I am being very honest and I don’t want to hide it. I don’t think people expect magic from me in Pushpa. It’s pure collaboration out of love for Sukumar sir. My stuff is here (Malayalam) and I am doing my stuff here,” said Fahadh Faasil.
It hints us the fact that Fahadh has done the film for remuneration, to build his circle and to get a chance to work with some best talents in the industry. May be, because of the same reason, he kept himself away from the promotions.
Now, the million dollar question is if he returns in the third part?
