The tragic demise of a woman, Revathi, at the Sandhya Theatre on the 4th of December during the screening of Pushpa shocked everyone. On behalf of team Pushpa, Icon star Allu Arjun issued a statement today, announcing a donation of 25 lakh rupees to the deceased family as a goodwill gesture.
“Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey,” wrote Allu Arjun, sharing a video on social media.
“We were disappointed and shocked to learn this. For the last 25 years, it has been a tradition for us to watch the film in the main theatre. Upon learning the news, we were shocked and were not in the mood to participate in the Pushpa celebrations,” said Allu Arjun.
Bunny added, “We make movies for audiences to enjoy in theatres, but I am at a loss of words this time. I would offer my condolences to Revathi garu’s family.”
“The loss can never be covered, but we are always emotionally with the family. On the goodwill note gesture, I would like to donate 25 lakh rupees to the family. I want to convey that I am there for them through my actions. I am doing this to secure the future of the family. We will try to be there for the family as much as possible,” said Allu Arjun, adding that team Pushpa will also take care of the medical expenses currently incurred.
“We make movies for the audiences. But, when an incident like this happens, our energies also come down. We intend to create entertainment, and I request everyone be careful in theatres,” Allu Arjun requested.
