Pushpa 2 Storm: Baby In Trouble?

The theatrical debut of Allu Arjun and Sukumar Pushpa 2 was earmarked with an astounding response by the Hindi masses. The film is going outrageously strong in the Hindi belt with record numbers being reported over the first weekend.

Pushpa 2 has collected over Rs 260 crores nett in the first weekend and it is confirmed to have a really long run in the Hindi belt, much like the first part. However, not everyone in Bollywood would be pleased with the kind of box office reception this Allu Arjun film is getting.

Notably, it is being estimated that Bollywood star Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film Baby John might get absolutely annihilated by the Pushpa 2 storm.

Given the kind of madness that Allu Arjun and Sukumar are creating up north any film that comes in the way of Pushpa 2 is bound to be blown away in literal sense. What this essentially means is that Baby John which is releasing on 25 December could be facing severe heat from Pushpa 2.

It is true that there are nearly two weeks more to go for the release of Baby John. But the issue for Varun Dhawan’s film here is that Pushpa 2 is going super strong in Hindi mass pockets and this will go on for at least 4-5 weeks.

This elongated run of Pushpa 2 is likely to eat into the prospects of Baby John which also happens to be a commercial film and depends a lot on the Hindi masses. Pushpa 2 is on course to become the biggest blockbuster of all time in the Hindi market and this would come at the expense of Baby John being blown away.

Baby John is a remake of Teri and it has Varun and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles. While the Pushpa 2 madness looms at large on this film, it has to be seen how it would hold up.

Well, who would’ve thought that a Telugu film would threaten the existence of a Hindi film in the Hindi market. But this is the kind of box office mania that Tollywood has started to create all across Indian cinema.
