The much-awaited meeting between Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and the film industry personalities took place today in Hyderabad. Revanth Reddy, along with Deputy CM Bhatti, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkatareddy, and other officials, interacted with the film industry.
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy reportedly made it clear again that there will be no benefit shows in the state going forward. He said he was committed to what he had said in the Assembly earlier. Revanth reportedly made it clear that there would be no compromise in maintaining law and order in the state. He also added that the government will act very seriously against bouncers if they disrupt the functioning of police officials.
Revanth Reddy also made it clear that the film industry should cooperate with the government in promoting campaigns against the usage of drugs and the protection of women. The government expects the film industry personalities to cooperate in taking the development activities to the public.
After the meeting, Dil Raju addressed the press and briefed the outcome of the meeting.
Dil Raju shared that the discussion focused on the challenges faced by the film industry and its development in Telangana. Dil Raju emphasized that the government is committed to supporting the industry in its efforts to elevate Telugu cinema to a global platform.
Dil Raju revealed that the CM encouraged the production of Hollywood-caliber films in Hyderabad and expressed a desire for the industry to actively participate in addressing social issues in Telangana. He mentioned that heroes and heroines have pledged to contribute to campaigns against marijuana and drug use.
He described the meeting as positive and assured that the film industry will continue collaborating with the Telangana government. Addressing rumors of friction between the industry and the government, he dismissed them as baseless and reiterated the strong partnership. Dil Raju also downplayed issues like increasing movie ticket prices and benefit shows, calling them minor matters.
During the meeting, many film personalities voiced out their opinions which are mentioned below:
Legendary Filmmaker K Raghavender Rao opined that the current government, like all previous governments, is encouraging the movie industry. I am welcoming the decision to elect Dil Raju as the FDC Chairman. There are many scenic spots in Telangana, and they should be developed. Earlier, Chandrababu conducted the Children’s Film Festival. Now, we should hold an International Film Festival,” he said.
Nagarjuna felt that Hyderabad should have a studio setup with International standards. “If the government grants capital incentives, it will help the film industry to grow globally. I want to see Hyderabad as the world cinema capital,” he said.
Murali Mohan said, “The first day of a film’s release is no less than the election results day. We feel saddened by the Sandhya theatre stampede incident. The film’s promotions have become very important now, amidst the competition to project every film at the international level.”
Senior producer Shyam Prasad Reddy said that he wants to develop Hyderabad further to the next level.
We have to see if the terms will come back to normalcy between both the parties after this meeting.
