As soon as Kalki 2898 AD was released, the audiences were speculating about Lord Krishna’s character. The team roped in a Tamil actor for the character but many think that there is a room for bringing in an established actor for playing the role. But, director Nag Ashwin did not want to show the face of Lord Krishna in the film.
Speaking at an event recently, Nag Ashwin opened up that Mahesh Babu would be apt to play a full length role as God. If given a chance, he would be willing to rope in Mahesh for the character.
“I did not want to show the face of Lord Krishna in the Kalki universe. But, if there is a full-length role, I think Mahesh Babu will be apt. The love that Mahesh Babu’s fans are showing, the movie would be an all time blockbuster, even before releasing the teaser. I think so that the film collects huge,” said Nag Ashwin.
The director also added, “I really love Mahesh Babu garu in the film Khaleja, where he is playing a God who is a human and who is not a God. The situation is so beautiful. Even if we imagine him as a full-time god, I am sure he will pull if off.”
On the other hand, director Prashanth Varma once revealed that Mahesh Babu would be apt for Lord Sriram, while he was working on the cast of Jai Hanuman. As of now, the team did not rope in the actor for the role and we have to see if the option is still open.
Interestingly, successful Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra also once shared that Mahesh Babu’s face and body language would be perfect in the role of Lord Sri Krishna.
The fans want to see Mahesh Babu doing a mythological drama and playing the role of a God. We have to see if this wish becomes true anytime soon.
