Anurag Kashyap is currently one of the finest filmmakers in Indian cinema. His groundbreaking hits in Hindi cinema have brought him success. At one point, he transitioned into acting and made quite a name for himself. However, he feels frustrated in Bollywood and has decided to shift his base to the South.
In a recent interview, Anurag openly expressed his displeasure with how Bollywood functions.
“I can not go out and experiment now. Producers constantly think of profit and margins. The joy of filmmaking is sucked out. That’s why I want to move out of Mumbai next year. I am going to the South. I want to go where there is stimulation. Otherwise, I will die as an old man. I am so disappointed and disgusted by my industry. I am disgusted by the mindset,” he said.
Anurag Kashyap feels that Manjummel Boys may never have seen the light of day in Bollywood,, but the industry would show interest in remaking it. “The mindset is to remake what’s already worked. They will not try anything new,” he said, highlighting the reluctance to take creative risks.
Anurag Kashyap also mentioned that the first-generation actors are very much entitled and would not be willing to act; instead, they want to be stars.
