Pawan Reveals Toli Prema Remuneration

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his profound appreciation for books and their transformative power during the 35th Vijayawada Book Fair inauguration at the Indira Gandhi Sports Ground. Speaking at the Ramoji Rao Sahitya Vedika, he highlighted books’ pivotal role in shaping his life and instilling courage to navigate challenges.

Pawan Kalyan shared an incident from the beginning days of his career when he received a remuneration of 15 lakhs for his Superhit film Toliprema.

“I got a remuneration of 15 lakhs for my Toliprema film, and then I went to a bookstore to purchase a lot of books. I felt like I was entering a bank vault. Books are always my prized possessions. I closely spent a lakh and more to purchase the books,” he said.

Pawan called everyone to protect our Telugu language by reading more and more books. “We should set a target for ourselves to read ten thousand books,” he said.

Pawan humorously admitted his reluctance to part with his cherished books, stating, “I wouldn’t hesitate to give away ₹1 crore, but I think twice before parting with a book from my collection. If someone asks for a book, I’d rather buy them a copy than give away mine.”

The event was attended by distinguished figures, including Sahitya Academy Secretary K. Srinivasa Rao, editor M. Nageswara Rao, MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu, and MLA Mandali Buddhaprasad.
