Thalapathy Vijay will soon transform into a full-time politician. On this note, he decided to end his acting career by making one last film that could enhance his political career. Unofficially, it has been declared that Vijay is acting in the remake of Bhagvanth Kesari in Tamil with Mamitha Baiju, reprising Sreeleela’s role. Interestingly, the title for this Tamil remake is the same as Vijay’s debut film, Naalaiya Theerpu.
Naalaiya Theerpu loosely translates to Repati Theerpu or Tomorrow’s Verdict. The Telugu version’s mass title, Bhagavanth Kesari, contrasts with the Tamil remake’s thought-provoking title.
Interestingly, the title holds sentimental value. Vijay’s debut as a lead actor was in a film, Naaliaya Theerpu, directed by his father, S. A. Chandrasekhar. That movie marked the beginning of Vijay’s journey at 18 and was a notable success.
Now, as Vijay wraps up his acting career, this nostalgic connection is expected to deepen fans’ emotional attachment to the film.
As per the reports, H Vinoth will direct this last film of Vijay with Pooja Hedge, reprising Kajal’s role from the original. The film is scheduled for a grand Dussehra release this year.
