New OTT Trend Worries TV Channels

As all the theatres got shut down, most of the audience has shifted to the OTT platforms. So, even though theatres got reopened most of the movie lovers are referring to watch the films on digital mediums. But apart from the movie theatres, the TV channels also got hugely affected because of the OTT platforms. Most of the movies are going to get released within 50 days of the theatrical release. But the TV channel premieres are getting delayed. Apart from the TV audience, most of the people are watching films directly on OTT platforms.

On the other hand, OTT platforms are not only coming up with films but also creating new content like talk shows as well. As they have been giving some huge offers, most of the celebrities are also showing interest in the OTTs.

For example, Samantha is all set to come up with the first-ever talk show on the OTT platforms.

Other than these game shows, there is nothing new in the TV channels when compared to the OTT platforms. So, it seems like TV channels are making long term contracts with TV shows that are currently running on TV channels.

We have to see if the trend picks up or ends up as a debacle.
