National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh is making her grand OTT debut with the Netflix series, Akka. The teaser of this anticipated series was unveiled today as a part of Netflix India’s 2025 lineup announcement.
Keerthy Suresh plays a never-before mass avatar in this revenge-thriller series. Going by the teaser, it looks like Keerthy played the role of a powerful matriarch in the series. She looks stunning in the role of a rural lady boss, draped in a saree and decked up with heavy jewellery.
Starring Radhika Apte in another lead role, Akka deals with the story of a girl who seeks revenge against a rebel. “The matriarchy stands strong. A rebel plots their downfall. A girl from Pernuru seeks revenge against the Akkas,” read the plot.
The teaser features a few exquisite shots of South Indian locations. Nothing more about the series has been revealed yet. Akka is being bankrolled by Yash Raj Films. More details about the rest of the cast and crew are expected to be announced soon.
Keerthy pinned a lot of hopes on her Bollywood debut Baby John. However, it turned out to be a disaster. It has to be seen if she gets that much-needed nationwide fame and success with Akka.
