#BoycottLaila: Vishwaksen Apologizes

Published by

The pre-release event of Vishwak Sen’s upcoming film Laila has unexpectedly sparked controversy due to actor Prithviraj’s remarks. The actor’s comments have drawn backlash from YSRCP supporters. The hashtag #BoycottLaila has gained traction, with some even threatening to leak a pirated HD print of the movie.

Responding to the situation, Laila’s producer, Sahu Garapati, and lead actor, Vishwak Sen, addressed the media to clarify their stance. Sahu Garapati expressed shock over the controversy, stating that he and the film’s team were unaware of Prithviraj’s comments as they were waiting outside for Chiranjeevi. He apologized to anyone who felt offended.

Vishwak Sen pointed out the alarming trend of #BoycottLaila on social media, which had already garnered around 25,000 tweets. He specifically mentioned a Twitter user claiming to possess the film’s HD print and threatening to release it online, a direct attack on the livelihood of everyone involved in the project.

The controversy stems from Prithviraj’s comment about the number of goats diminishing during the film’s shoot. While he did not explicitly mention any political party, YCP supporters interpreted his statement as a veiled reference.
