Mahesh Babu who started out as Prince of Tollywood emerged as the Superstar in no time. Film after film, he got himself better in scoring blockbusters. He is the only hero who has films that became cult classics over a period of time when they were aired on Television. Now, his film Athadu created a big record on the Television with a telecast of over 1500 times.

It’s rare for even super-hit films to reach 1,000 telecasts, but Mahesh Babu’s Athadu achieved this milestone. Despite its lukewarm theatrical response, Athadu became everyone’s favorite on TV. There was a time when every Sunday felt incomplete without it airing, and Star Maa set a world record by telecasting it 1,500 times.

Similarly, Khaleja, another collaboration with Trivikram Srinivas, gained cult status over time despite its initial underperformance in theaters. Whenever Athadu gets streamed on TV, it garners huge TRP numbers.
