Shocking Facts Revealed in Chahal & Dhanashree’s Divorce Petition

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and dancer Dhanashree Verma were finally granted a divorce by the Bandra family court in Mumbai on Thursday, nearly two and a half years of legal procedure. The couple was finally granted a divorce yesterday, after nearly two and a half years of legal procedure. The court granted a decree on the joint petition filed by the cricketer and his ex-wife for divorce by mutual consent. The Bombay High Court on Wednesday directed the Bandra family court to decide the divorce plea by Thursday, as Chahal would not be available later due to the upcoming IPL season.

Chahal and Dhanashree’s divorce petition has brought out startling yet contradictory revelations. As per the petition, Chahal and Dhanashree, who got married on December 23, 2020, separated in June 2022, within just 19 months of marriage. However, Dhanashree Verma’s Instagram post with Chahal, where she wrote “730 days with my spinning star,” contradicts their petition. The family court also directed Chahal to pay Rs 4.75 crores in alimony to Dhanashree Verma.

The High Court on Wednesday waived off the 6-month cooling period mandatory for every married couple from the date of filing of the divorce petition under the Hindu Marriage Act. The HC’s move was following a petition by Chahal and Dhanashree, who sought a waiver of the cooling period in their case as they have applied for divorce by mutual consent.

Chahal’s t-shirt as he appeared before the Bandra family court became a talking point. The t-shirt read, “Be your own sugar daddy,” which netizens felt was an indirect dig at his ex-wife Dhanashree. On the other hand, Dhanashree released a special song on abusive marriages ahead of the final court hearing. Meanwhile, rumours of Chahal and Dhanashree’s alleged relationships with RJ Mahvash and Pratik Utekar, respectively, have been doing the rounds on social media for the past few months.
