Sampath Nandi is the creative head of Odela 2 directed by Ashok Teja and produced by D Madhu on Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks. The movie is set for summer release on April 17th.
Sampath Nandi’s excitement about the film was palpable as he said, “The journey of this movie has been incredible – we began by launching it in Kaasi and the teaser at the Kumbh Mela. The blessings of Lord Shiva have undoubtedly been with us, and the response from the audience for the teaser has been overwhelming. Odela, for me, is not just a film – it’s a heartfelt tribute to my birthplace. It’s the story about Odela Mallanna safeguarding the villagers from an evil through Naga Sadhu. While the storyline may seem simple, the real spectacle lies in the screenplay, content, and sequences. The movie, releasing on April 17th, is a grand theatrical experience. Every aspect of the movie was created with care and attention to detail, and I can’t wait for the audience to experience it. The climax in particular will frighten you for sure”
He went on to say, “Odela was conceived during the lockdown. We wanted to create a film with a limited crew, based on true stories from my village. The success it achieved on OTT was truly unexpected and humbling. Now, Odela 2 picks up where the first film ended, continuing the narrative in a seamless transition.”
Tamannaah stated that it was a pleasure working with Sampath Nandi. “This is my fourth film with Sampath Nandi. I’ve learned so much from him, especially about storytelling and work ethic. Sampath has had a big impact on my career, and his films have always resonated with audiences, even beyond the Telugu-speaking community. When I heard the story of Odela 2, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. The journey of making this movie was intense, and I even gave up non-veg to fully immerse myself in the role. I can’t wait for audiences to see it.”
