Pawan’s Reaction to ‘Quitting’ Movies

Ever since he became the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan has been dedicating most of his time to his political work. As a result, his most eagerly awaited movies, like Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1 and OG, have been terribly delayed, while Pawan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh with Harish Shankar and an untitled project under Surender Reddy’s direction are rumored to have been shelved.

In a recent interview with a Tamil news channel, Pawan Kalyan opened up about acting in movies in the future. When the interviewer asked him if his fans can expect to see more of him in movies for a longer time along with politics, Pawan Kalyan said, “As long as I need money, I’ll continue to act in movies, that too without compromising on my administrative and political job.”

After the release of Agnyaathavaasi in 2018, Pawan Kalyan had announced retirement from movies to concentrate on his political aspirations ahead of the 2019 general elections. However, following Janasena’s disastrous debut in the AP Assembly elections, Pawan returned to movies with the Pink remake ‘Vakeel Saab’ in 2021.

Reacting to the criticism over his comeback to movies, Pawan responded, saying that he needed money to run his party and fuel his political work ahead of the 2024 general elections. Pawan went on to appear in Bheemla Nayak and Bro, while Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1 and OG await his dates to wrap up the balance portions.

Pawan’s latest statement on continuing in movies has invited mixed reactions. While his die-hard fans have given him a thumbs-up, anti-fans and sympathizers of the opposition parties are mocking him for not sticking to his promise of quitting movies after coming to power.
