Kammula Stirs Discussion On Leader 2 Again!

Rana Daggubati marked his debut as an actor in the Telugu film industry with the film ‘Leader’. Sekhar Kammula directed the bold political drama. It did not work well commercially but remained a classic in the later period in time. Continuous requests have been made that Sekhar attempt Leader 2. Even Rana confirmed that the project would happen. Now, the discussion of Leader 2 is happening again.

Looking back, many believe that if Leader were remade today as a Pan-India film, it could be a game-changer in Indian cinema. In a recent interview, Sekhar Kammula hinted at the possibility of Leader 2. He pointed out how the scale of corruption and political dynamics have drastically changed over the years.

When he wrote Leader, the mention of “lakhs of crores” seemed shocking, but today, that figure feels insignificant in political discussions. He expressed his desire to explore the evolving political landscape and social issues from a fresh perspective in his films.

Currently, Sekhar Kammula is busy crafting Kubera, with Dhanush, Nagarjuna and Rashmika. Once the film releases, he may sit on Leader 2.
