Warner Equals Rajendra Prasad’s Comments to ‘Sledging’

Robinhood is one of the upcoming films in Telugu. Apart from Nithiin and Sreeleela, the presence of Australian cricketer David Warner is creating a big hype around the film. The makers held a pre-release event yesterday and launched the trailer, which opened to a positive response.

However, Rajendra Prasad’s comments about Warner did not go well with everyone. Out of over-excitement, Rajendra Prasad used a subtle abusive word on Warner, which received a backlash on social media. However, Warner seems okay with it, as per the director, Venky.

During the event, Rajendra Prasad inappropriately referred to Warner in his usual humorous style. While the comment was intended to be lighthearted, it triggered mixed reactions on social media, with some fans feeling it was disrespectful.

Director Venky Kudumula quickly stepped in to clarify the situation. Speaking to the print media, he explained that Rajendra Prasad’s remark was purely fun but acknowledged that Warner, unfamiliar with Telugu, might not have fully understood the context. To prevent any misunderstanding, Venky personally explained it to Warner.

According to Venky, Warner responded in his characteristic cool manner, saying, “I’ve seen a lot of sledding in cricket. This felt like fun in acting. He was just joking.”

Already, the team is facing a controversy regarding the portrayal of Ketika Sharma in the Adhi Dha Surprise song. The makers are not ready to afford an unnecessary controversy, because of which Venky addressed it eve before it went out of proportion.
