The latest trend in Bollywood is to trust the directors from South in order to taste blockbusters. Superstar Salman Khan also took up the trend in order to find the success for his next film Sikandar. However, it turned out to be a wrong decision and South director AR Murugadoss failed to score a success.
On the occasion of Eid, Salman Khan had his new release Sikandar in theatres. The earlier expectation was that Murugadoss would deliver a solid commercial success with the film. But, he failed by crafting a routine yet regular commercial social drama. At a time when the directors like Sandeep Vanga, Atlee Kumar, and others are scoring hits in South, senior like Murugadoss failed to catch the trend.
Sikandar opened to mixed reviews, and there is a lot of criticism happening on the routine work done by the team. Both the writing and the execution is being blamed the most. The outdated directorial skill of Murugadoss neither left an impression nor had the potential to appeal the fans.
Rashmika Mandanna played the female lead in the film but she also could not make an impression.
