Gulzar’s Daayra On Hyderabad Gang Rape & Murder Case

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran are coming forward to do an exciting movie titled Daayra. Meghna Gulzar will be directing the film. Billed to be a gripping crime-drama, the film is bankrolled by Junglee Pictures. The project was announced the other day and the movie explores a crime that created a sensation in Hyderabad.

The reports say that the project is inspired by the 2019 Hyderabad gang rape and murder case — one of the most widely discussed incidents in the country. Meghna Gulzar seems to be taking a realistic approach towards the case, designing intense characters around it.

Co-written by Yash and Sima alongside Meghna, the film is currently in pre-production. Daayra marks Meghna’s next directorial after Sam Bahadur. She already made an impressive mark with her past movies and she hopes to recreate the magic now with Kareena and Prithviraj.

The complete details of the cast and crew will be out soon.
