What Happened To These Directors?

The Telugu film industry produces a handful of talented filmmakers every year. But it is in the hands of those filmmakers to live up to the success and make another film soon. Irrespective of hits and flops, there are a few directors who are off-the-radar for a long time now. Let’s have a look at them.

Chandrashekar Yeleti:

With films like Aithe, Anukokunda Okaroju and Okkadunnadu, Chandrashekar Yeleti carved his own niche in the Telugu film industry. However, he has not been doing films regularly over the last few years. His last film was Check, starring Nithiin, which was released in 2021. Since then, Yeleti has yet to announce his next film.

Krishna Vamshi:

One of the prolific directors in Tollywood, Krishna Vamshi, has been struggling to score a success for quite some time. His last release Ranga Marthanda, which had hit the theatres in 2023, ended up as a disaster. After that, Krishna Vamshi didn’t announce his next project.

Vamshi Paidipally:

After the 2019 super hit Maharshi, Vamshi Paidipally is yet to announce his next Telugu directorial. In 2023, he came up with Varisu in Tamil. However, there is no update about his next directorial film.

Surender Reddy:

Surender Reddy, who is best-known for films like Athanokkade, Kick and Race Gurram, made his last film Akhil in 2023. After that film’s disastrous result, he didn’t announce his next project.

Srikanth Addala:

Srikanth Addala made a name for himself with super hits like Kotha Bangaru Lokam and Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. His last release was Pedakapu 1, which hit the screens in 2023. It was a flop, and since then, there has been no update about Pedakapu 2 or any other film from Addala.

Parasuram:

After making a 100-crore grosser like Geetha Govindam, Parasuram got a chance to work with Superstar Mahesh Babu for Sarkaru Vaari Paata. But that film couldn’t perform as per expectations. That result dented Parasuram’s career, who is yet to announce his next film.

Apart from these directors, there are other filmmakers like Kishore Tirumala, Shiva Nirvana, and Meher Ramesh, who haven’t announced their next project even after years since their last film’s release.
