Was Ram Charan Only the First Choice for Peddi? Buchi Explains!

After scoring a massive blockbuster with his directorial debut, Uppena, Buchi Babu Sana joined hands with Ram Charan for his second film, Peddi. The teaser of this film was released recently and increased the hype to another level. The teaser itself gave blockbuster vibes, and people are eagerly waiting to see what Ram Charan and Buchi Babu have in store this time.

Speaking in a recent interview, Buchi Babu said that he first narrated the story of Peddi to his guru, Sukumar, who liked it immensely. Right after hearing it, Sukumar told Buchi Babu to narrate it to Ram Charan. Meanwhile, after Uppena, it was widely rumoured that Buchi Babu would team up with Jr NTR for his second film.

For some reason, that project didn’t take off, and Peddi came into the picture. Everyone thought that Peddi was the film which Buchi Babu was supposed to do with NTR, but going by his latest statements, it looks like it was Ram Charan who was always been his first choice for this film.

Buchi Babu also opened up on the moments and his experience during the release of Peddi’s First Shot teaser. He said that at the time of its release, he was at Ram Charan’s house along with Charan and Megastar Chiranjeevi. He stated that he was very nervous but felt extremely relieved and happy when Chiranjeevi liked it and appreciated him for the same.

He went on to add that Ram Charan put the teaser on speaker mode with full volume and showed it to Chiranjeevi. Buchi Babu called it a memorable moment in his life.

Talking about the most viral sixer shot at the end of the teaser, which took it to the next level, Buchi says, ‘I was thrilled with the response and want to thank the fans and audience. I credit fight master Navakanth for the shot’s success; he designed it,’ describing the efforts.

Peddi features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu play other key roles in it. Peddi is slated for worldwide release on March 27, 2026. AR Rahman is composing the music for it. Venkata Satish Kilaru is bankrolling the project.
