Ever since Prabhas’ Adipurush is announced, the movie had been hitting the headlines more than often. Apart from the usual updates, the revelation of Saif Ali Khan playing Raavan in the movie did not go well with many. Also, the talk about Kiara Advani being roped in for the role of Sita too garnered criticism.
Now, the latest is that a plea was filed against Saif Ali Khan for his comments in his recent interview. For a question about his role in Adipurush, Sai Ali Khan said ‘the benevolent and humane side of Ravan will be projected’ through the film. This has not gone well with many people and after huge criticism, Saif apologized for his statement and withdrew the words he said. Saif also said that Lord Ram has always been the symbol of righteousness and heroism for him.
Well, despite Saif’s apologizing, an advocate filed a petition against Saif Ali Khan for hurting religious sentiments. Himanshu Srivastava, a civil advocate who filed the petition claims to be having deep faith in ‘Sanatan Dharma’. He said Lord Ram has been considered a symbol of good while Raavan is always a symbol of evil. The petitioner finds fault with Saif’s words that read ‘Lakshman had cut off the nose of Raavan’s sister Surpanaka and Raavan kidnapping Sita was justified.’
The petitioner alleges that Saif’s interview is a negative portrayal of faith in Sanatan Dharma.
