Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma goes to an extent to get the much needed publicity for his films. In another two days, RGV’s ‘Murder’ is set for theatrical release and ahead of this, the director planned to host a press meet in Miryalaguda. As we know ‘Murder’ is highly inspired by Nalgonda’s honour killing, RGV planned this press stunt.
For this, RGV zeroed upon Natraj theatre in Miryalaguda and invited all the media and people to his press meet. However, RGV received a rude shock from the Miryalaguda police. The cops have denied him permission for the press meet and the director was left with no other option rather than to call of the event.
The police sensed that RGV’s press meet could evoke unwanted unrest in Miryalaguda and so the permission was declined. “Since we are not given permission for MURDER press meet at Natraj theatre in Miriyalaguda we are cancelling for the moment ..But will surely come later ..I thank the S P Garu for his co operation,” tweeted RGV.
But RGV’s tweet hints that he would certainly call on the press in Miryalaguda probably later. By then the film would release and like all his previous films, it would also go unnoticed.
