The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has reportedly conducted raids at a hotel in Mumbai and detained a Tollywood actress. The raids were conducted on Saturday night at a hotel in Bhayandar (East), Mumbai. Acting on a tip off, the sleuths of NCB have raided the hotel. According to reports, 400 gms of MD was procured by the NCB in last night operations. It is worth Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
Drug peddler Chand Mohammad Shaik, a resident of Bandra, was caught red-handed in the operation. Meanwhile, drug supplier Saaed has fled the hotel room. Meanwhile, the Tollywood actress is being questioned.
Since New Year’s Eve, the NCB has been conducting multiple raids in Mumbai and the outskirts. Apparently, their probe revealed various syndicates operative in the city selling Mephedrone. On specific information, NCB raided the hotel in Bhayandar (East).
NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede and his team have conducted the operation. First, the NCB team found drugs from a suspect at Gurunanak Marg at Bandra railway station (west) in person and from the under seat storage of his scooter. He was identified as Chand Shaikh. On his revelation, a follow up raid was conducted at the hotel to trace Sayeed Shaikh.
Room Number 204 of the hotel was raided where they found certain banned drugs under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Sayeed is the main supplier of MD. As per initial investigation, NCB found that Sayeed is resident of Mira Road. However, he would call the small peddlers to hotels in Mira Road and Bhayandar to collect contraband.
Tollywood actress who was also in the room along with Sayeed is being questioned by the NCB. According to reports, the actress reached Bhayandar from Hyderabad on Jan 1st. NCB officials are probing the matter. They’re yet to jump to a conclusion.
