There is a cold war between Pooja Hegde and Samantha. It all actually began when a post on Pooja Hegde’s social media account dropped wherein a picture of Samantha from Majili was posted and asked, “I never find her pretty” Pooja’s post questioning Samantha’s beauty had shocked many.
Although Pooja disowned the post and claimed that her account got hacked, the damage has been done as it created unwanted gap between both the actresses and their fans. Sam is also said to be deeply hurt with the ‘unofficial’ post of Pooja. Since then, Sam fans have been waiting for a revenge and this seems to have come true in the form of Gunasekhar’s Shaakuntalam.
The buzz is that maverick director Gunasekhar had approached happening heroine Pooja Hegde to play the lead role in his next mythological drama Shaakuntalam. However, the glam girl has second thoughts of doing a lead in the mythological drama and gently turned down the offer. And this film eventually went to Samantha and she has readily grabbed the offer.
While Gunasekhar did Rudhramadevi with Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Allu Arjun as Gona Ganna Reddy, he is all set to recreate magic with mythological film Shaakuntalam where Sam will be seen as Sakuntala, the ethereal beauty who falls in love with Dushyanta. This is certainly seen as a big blow to Pooja from Sam. By taking up the role, Sam has certainly pushed Pooja into a dilemma. This is Sam’s sweet revenge, say industry insiders.
