Happy Birthday To The Most Brilliant Comedian

Published by

Born on 1st of February, 1956, the king of comedy, Brahmanandam, is celebrating his 65th birthday today. Fondly called as ‘Brahmi, he has always been the strongest element in Tollywood for his ingenious comedy that cine-goers have ever seen for more than three decades.

Brahmi holds the Guinness World Record for the most screen credits as he appeared in more than a thousand movies. His command of the Telugu language is impeccable and his capability of putting words together rivalled that of anybody of his era. And when we talk about his Telugu diction, it all started with his young days when he was a Telugu lecturer in Attili, West Godavari district.

To mention, Brahmanandam is not just a comedian but also a great orator, artist and a conversationalist. His thought-provoking mentality kept his views pragmatic and sensible. Apart from movies, Brahmi also hosted a Television show and judged a reality comedy show. As he strode into different ways to entertain the audience, we can proudly say that Brahmi is one of the very few persons who has blessed our Telugu industry with comedy for decades.

Honoured with Padma Shri in 2009, Brahmanandam was also awarded some prestigious accolades like Nandi, Filmfare and South Indian international movie awards. Ever his debut in Jandhyala’s directorial Aha Naa-Pellanta! (1987), Brahmi made his presence so important and a must-watch for the artistry. His voice modulation, comedic expressions, body language, his pace and punchlines, everything is so immense and rarely beautiful.

Few of his fascinating roles – ‘Ara Gundu’ from Aha Naa Pellanta. ‘Micheal Jackson’ from Ananagana oka roju, ‘Anandam’ in Jambalakidi Pamba, ‘Chitragupta’ from Yamaleela, Photographer in Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Kittu in Athadu, Chary in Dhee and many many more. Is it even humanly possible to mention copious amounts of his rich sense of humour filled roles?!

He is considered as the best asset for films for the solid reputation he has built over years with his witty insights. He makes art like a pro and his range as a comedian is remarkable. Happy Birthday, Brahmanandam garu. “We laughed yesterday, we are laughing today and we will laugh tomorrow because of you!”
