Two tweets by the actress Kangana Ranaut has been deleted today by Twitter, saying that the posts by her were in violation of the platform’s rules on hate speech. And the deletion of two tweets happened within two hours of time in a day. These two tweets were related to farmers’ protests. “We have taken action on Tweets that were in violation of the Twitter Rules in line with our range of enforcement options,” Twitter said in a statement.
After Kangana’s attack on pop singer Rihanna and climate activist Greta Thunberg, the actress took a jibe on cricketers in general. Vice-captain Rohit Sharma shared his views on the ongoing protests, saying “India has always been stronger when we all stand together and finding a solution is the need of the hour. Our farmers play an important role in our nation’s well being and I am sure everyone will play their roles to find a solution TOGETHER. #IndiaTogether”.
To which, Kangana replied, “Why all these cricketers sounding like dhobi ka kutta na ghar ka na ghat ka? Why would farmers be against laws which are revolutionary for their well-being. These are terrorists who are causing ruckus. Say that na…itna daarr lagta hai?” Kangana calling cricketers as dhobi ka kutta has once again created a stir among netizens.
Apart from this, Twitter has also deleted one of Kangana’s tweet for Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, where she called the latter as a B grade person. It is true that Kangana is one of the best actresses in India, but her habit of having an opinion for everything on the public domain is going uncontrolled, forcing even Twitter to remove her tweets. Today, after her bad-mouthing on cricketers, even some of her fans are disappointed, where she threw herself into an embarrassing situation today.
