‘Sachin, Don’t Talk Other Than Cricket’

Published by

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has been advised to exercise caution while speaking on the issues other than cricket. NCP leader Sharad Pawar Sachin. Right after international pop singer Rihanna’s tweet, Tendulkar retorted, “India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation.”

Today, Pawar replied to Sachin’s tweet in an interview – “Many people have reacted sharply to the stand by them (Indian celebrities). I would advise Sachin to exercise caution while speaking about any other field”. Pawar also slammed the Centre for calling the protesters as “Khalistanis or terrorists”.

Responding to Pawar’s comment, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi tweeted, “How I feel his advice was made available to Mia Khalifa, Rihanna and Greta Thunberg! I was also thinking what about knowing and yet not speaking, since he has been a former Agriculture Minister, worked with APMCs (and) issued letters in favour of reforms…”

Soon after, netizens fired on Pawar for advising Sachin. “Wow, giving dhamkis to a person who gave 24yrs of his life to India on the international stage and is a Bharat Ratna. He didn’t speak against anyone. He spoke in favour of the country. This is beyond disgusting,” said a fan.

Another user wrote, “Rihanna can comment on an issue she didn’t know at all but Sachin should not talk for #IndiaUnited”. #IstandwithSachin hashtag is trending and Twitter came forward in support for Tendulkar, who is regarded as one of the iconic cricketers of all-time.
