Over Hype Worrying Uppena?

Published by

Uppena marks the debut of lead actors Vaisshnav Tej, Krithi Shetty and Sukumar’s protege Buchi Babu Sana as director. Usually, when a film with debutants is releasing, it’d carry relatively low buzz. And if such film gets delayed by 10 months, there wouldn’t be much anticipation from audiences. However, defying all such odds, Uppena is carrying phenomenal buzz.

In addition to this, the grand success of film’s Pre-release function where Megastar Chiranjeevi graced as the chief guest and compared that the film is on par with Bharati Raja’s classics has further increased the expectations on Uppena. Sukumar stating that Uppena is Rs 100 crore film given its story has raised the bar even further. Directors Koratala Siva, Sundeep Reddy Vanga, Harish Shankar, Shiva Nirvana have all said great words about Uppena that certainly added to the hype.

Actor Vijay Sethupathi reasoned why he accepted Uppena and this indeed hyped the film further. All these clearly indicate that Uppena is riding high with massive expectations.

No doubt, this is gonna help the film and get great openings, it is also a challenge for Uppena team. Audiences gonna step into theatres with high and heavy expectation on Uppena. This is a headache for its makers to reach those expectations.

Given that producers shelled out about 30 crore on the film with newcomers and even distributing the film on their own in Nizam show their confidence. At the same time they are equally nervous to reach such high standards. The over expectations on Uppena seem to be worrying its makers. Let’s wait and see what is in store for Uppena.
