In a startling revelation, star actress Priyanka Chopra opened up about a sexist experience that left her feeling stunned and small. Priyanka Chopra in her new autobiography ‘Unfinished’, revealed about a director asking her to undergo plastic surgery to would ‘fix her proportions’ and also have a ‘boob job.’
Priyanka Chopra in her ‘Unfinished’ wrote ‘After a few minutes of small talk, the director/producer told me to stand up and twirl for him. I did. He stared at me long and hard, assessing me, and then suggested that I get a boob job, fix my jaw, and add a little more cushioning to my butt. If I wanted to be an actress, he said, I’d need to have my proportions fixed and he knew a great doctor in LA he could send me to. My then-manager voiced his agreement with the assessment.’
Priyanka said she walked out of there and later she fired her then-manager but decided to keep the experience to herself. Not just that, Priyanka Chopra appears to have revealed many such incidents she faced in the film industry before she became a star.
One such topic is her ‘nose’. Priyanka Chopra did not shy away from speaking about being called ‘plastic chopra’ in Bollywood for her having a different nose after a surgery. Priyanka reveals she needed to have a polyp surgically removed from her nasal cavity and the doctor accidentally shaved the bridge of her nose that collapsed the nose. She said she felt horrified, devastated and hopeless and that is when the press called her ‘Plastic Chopra.’
Now she is one of the very famous women in the world and is using her voice and fame to speak the right things and to support the right cause.
