Mega hero Vaishnav Tej’s Uppena is currently performing well at the box-office. During the pre-release event, Sukumar announced that the film is capable to collect 100 Cr. Everyone thought that Sukumar is exaggerating but the film is shocking everyone in reality. Because of the successful audio album, and the positive buzz before the release, the movie managed to have grand openings at the theatres in the first weekend. But, the hit talk of the film helped the movie to keep the momentum going. The film shattered everyone’s expectations and emerged as a big hit at the box-office. Uppena is dominating the new releases at the box-office.
Allari Naresh’s Naandhi, Vishal’s Chakra, and Sumanth’s Kapatadhari released last Friday. Except for Naandhi, the rest of the films opened to a poor response. But, Uppena is still strong in terms of attracting crowds to theatres. The theatre occupancy for Naandhi is good compared to the other two new releases. However, Uppena is moving ahead with packed houses everywhere. Kapatadhari and Chakra are the least priority for the audiences. If not Uppena, the audiences want to catch up with Naandhi in theatres.
Uppena’s Saturday collections surprised everyone. The film reported good numbers in all major cities with packed houses. The Sunday collections are much better. Looking at the trend, the film will cross the 50 Cr mark soon. Until next Friday, the film has time to mint more money at the ticket windows.
Nithiin’s Check, Sundeep Kishan’s A1 Express, and Nanditha Swetha’s Akshara will release next Friday. We have to see can these films put an end to Uppena’s domination at the box-office.
