Rs. 650 Cr Worth Manipulation: IT Dept after Raids On Anurag & Taapsee

The I-T Department conducted raids on properties of Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu on Wednesday. On Thursday, the department sleuths partly revealed what they found but without taking any names in the official statement.

According to the income tax department, they found discrepancies and manipulation of income during their search at almost 30 locations linked to the director Anurag Kashyap and his partners and actress Taapsee Pannu. Anurag Kashyap’s old production house Phantom Films is also raided. The I-T department is said to be huge suppression of income compared to the actual box office numbers. The production house couldn’t explain the discrepancy of around Rs 300 crore.

The I-T officials said they have found evidence about the manipulation of transactions of Phantom Films, its partners, and shareholders assumed to be tax implications of Rs 350 crore. They also found the cash receipts by the ‘leading actress’ about Rs 5 cr.

The I-T dept also raided the properties linked to Reliance Entertainment group and celebrity management companies KWAN.
