Watch: Nabhamsi Teaser

Award winning filmmaker Ram Alladi is all set to make a Sanskrit feature film. He has collaborated with the makers of Ra’s Metanoia (a film based on true events of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi’s life) for this film. The movie has been titled as ‘Nabhamsi’.

Set against the period of 1000 years ago, the film deals with India’s rich and astonishing history. “Nabhamsi” is a Sanskrit word meaning “Skies” in English.

The story is a man’s journey, over the course of a lifetime, to identify the source of one of his first and most primal memories. The film is touted to be a live action romance, unique for being written and performed in one of the subcontinent’s most ancient languages, Sanskrit. Though it is a Sanskrit film, it will have English open captions.

The preproduction work is said to have taken about 5 to 6 months. The film is hitting the floors tomorrow (8th March, 2021) coinciding with the International Women’s Day. 75 percent of the film’s shoot is planned in the US and rest 25% will be shot in India.
