The ongoing controversy around Saranga Dariya song from Love Story has been gaining steam. Despite the hue and cry of folk singer Komali and her genuine argument of sourcing a folk song from her grandmother, the lyric writer Suddala Ashok Teja and the film’s team is defiant. The cries of singer Komali are falling on the deaf ears of Love Story’s team.
Surprisingly, soft-hearted Sekhar Kammula, who usually avoids unwanted controversies around his film and its content, is tight-lipped on the ongoing controversy which is raising many eyeballs. At a time, Komali is going to pillar to the post for due credit for her for picking up a song and tune that was discovered by her and that was brought into limelight by her, Suddala Ashok Teja’s tame argument isn’t standing. This is certainly seems to be a clear case of plagiarism.
It is really high time, Sekhar Kammula must step in and try to pacify both the parties and sort out the whole issue amicably. Or else Sekhar Kammula’s silence indicates that he is supporting Suddala Ashok Teja.
Even the film’s producers are silent over the controversy. Looks like, the makers are happy with the controversy as this will draw more attention towards the song and the film. The film’s lead actors Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi have also not responded on the issue so far.
