Hero Venkatesh’s forthcoming action drama ‘Narappa’ has been making all the right noises ever since the project was announced. Venky reprises Tamil star Dhanush’s power-packed role in this official remake of Asuran.
Fans and industrywallahs were surprised when Venky and his brother Suresh Babu had finalised Sreekanth Addala as the film’s director. Sreekanth is known for his light-hearted slice of life movies, and doubts were raised about his ability to handle an intense revenge drama like Narappa.
Now, if the latest grapevine in Tollywood circles is anything to go by, Venky is upset with the way Sreekanth Addala is carving out Narappa. Apparently, Venky recently fired on Sreekanth on the film’s sets and strictly told him to just stick to the film’s original version without making any changes.
Interestingly, the promotional posters and the teaser that were launched in the past gave an impression that Narappa will be a shot to shot remake of Asuran. One wonders what kind of changes Sreekanth was trying to make that made Venky lose his cool. Well, Narappa releases on May 14th and all the doubts will be cleared on that day.
