Despite being in the industry for over two decades, music maestro AR Rahman did not touch the other crafts of film. With ’99 Songs’ Rahman is making his debut as producer and writer. The film’s trailer was unveiled short while ago.
It shows a young boy who is very much interested in music but his father restrains him because music has destroyed their family. Yet the kid doesn’t bow to his father’s words and even ignores the promise.
The young lad becomes a handsome hunk and a rockstar in music. He breathes music and just when he wants to go big, hurdles erupt. There is a romantic thread too and it is also one of the hurdles. The rest is up to us to assume.
Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas are playing the lead roles and it’s their debut too. Manisha Koirala and Lisa Ray are part of the supporting cast.
Overall ’99 Songs’ trailer is musical and emotional. Rahman leaves his mark with superb music and backgrounds.
The film is getting a simultaneous release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages on April 16th.
