Jathi Ratnalu, the madcap entertainer produced by Mahanati director Nag Ashwin, released on March 11th and turned out to be a massive blockbuster. This Anudeep directorial has collected over Rs 30 crore share worldwide, which is three times its budget.
Now, in an unexpected development, a police complaint has been filed against Jathi Ratnalu’s producer, director and actors Naveen Polishetty, Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna. Shiv Sena’s Telangana state unit members approached the Kachiguda Police, alleging that the makers have insulted India’s iconic freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru and Ramprasad Bismil by portraying them in a poor taste in the movie.
The complainants mentioned in their complaint that Ramprasad Bismil had sung ‘Sarfaroshiki Tamanna Ab Hamare Dil Me Hai’ before he was hanged and sacrificed his life for India’s independence.
The Shiv Sena members further alleged that this iconic song was twisted and insulted by Jathi Ratnalu’s makers by making its lead actors sing ‘Sarfaroshike Dil Mein Taamanna, Samantha aur Rashmika, Woh Theeno Mere Saath mein Hai”. The complainants demanded an immediate ban on the film, alleging that the film sends a wrong message to the present generation.
