The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a new update to the travel guidance for the people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. The new guidance says fully vaccinated people can travel at low risk to themselves.
Though the virus precautions need to be taken, which included wearing a mask and physical distance, the vaccinated people can travel within the US without getting tested for Covid-19 before or self-quarantining after.
The fully vaccinated people who want to travel internationally don’t need a Covid-19 test before prior to the travel, unless the destination place requires it. They also do not need to self-quarantine after returning to the US.
CDC emphasizes that they still have to have a negative Covid-19 test before getting on a flight to the US and a follow-up test three to five days after their return.
According to the CDC, people are considered fully vaccinated after receiving the last required dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The guidance for unvaccinated people remains the usual. They must get tested one to three days before travel and again three to five days after. They should self-quarantine at home for seven days after travel, or 10 days if they do not get tested post-travel.
