For the first time in his career, AR Rahman turned into a writer and producer for a pan-India film titled 99 Songs. Rahman has put his heart and soul into the film. He has been promoting it so aggressively to catch the attention of everyone. Film personalities all over the country are sharing the film’s trailer which is out recently. Naga Chaitanya who worked with Rahman earlier too shared the trailer and appreciated the team. It made Rahman happy who gave a declaration that Chay has become the true face of his music.
Sharing the film’s trailer, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni wrote, “Check out the trailer of #99Songsthemovie. deep writing , beautiful visuals and great music .. amazing stuff @arrahman sir ! Wishing you and the entire team all the best on this new journey!”
AR Rahman immediately came up with a reply to Chay where the Oscar Award-winning composer heaped praises on the Akkineni hero. Rahman quoted Naga Chaitanya’s tweet and wrote, “Dear @chay_akkineni, with Ye Maaya Chesave you have become one of the true faces of my music for the amazing Telugu audience. Thanks for sharing your kind wishes! #99Songs”
AR Rahman scored music for two films featuring Naga Chaitanya. They are Ye Maya Chesave and Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo. Both the films are directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.
99 Songs is directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy. Ehan Bhat and Lisa Ray play the lead roles in the film. The film is scheduled for release on 16 April 2021 in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages.
