Statue Of Tata, Paintings Of MF Hussain Were Recreated For Major

Published by

The makers of Major initially planned to shoot crucial sequences of the film in the Taj Mahal Palace hotel. However, as the permission was not granted for the shoot, they needed to erect the set resembling the hotel where 2008 Mumbai attacks took place.

Avinash Kolla who’s the production designer for the Adivi Sesh starrer has constructed the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel set with 500 workers in 10 days. It is learnt that even the grand staircase, statue of Tata and some iconic paintings by MF Hussain were recreated.

Avinash says the set is itself a character in the film, as the great level of detailing has brought to life the ambience of the hotel.

As is known, the popular art director has recreated the landscape of Kolkata city on a 10-acre piece of land on the outskirts of Hyderabad for Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy.
