Matrudevobhava is one of the cult classic films in the Telugu film industry. The film that released in 1991 completes 3 decades and the makers are planning to remake it once again. The film was actually the remake of The film is a remake of the Malayalam hit film Akashadoothu. After 30 years of release, producer KS Rama Rao wants to remake it again with the same director, Ajay Kumar.
Producer KS Rama Rao and director Ajay Kumar recently took part in the ‘Teravenuka Kathalu’ talk show. During the interaction, KS Rama Rao opened up about his wish to remake the film again with Nayanathara. Rama Rao also mentioned that he considers Anushka Shetty and Keerthy Suresh to play the leading lady role, originally played by Madhavi.
However, Rama Rao also mentioned his reservations about making the film now. He is in the opinion that the above-mentioned actors are currently enjoying a supreme phase and they may demand a huge amount as remuneration. Rama Rao is in plans to remake it with a low budget and also hopes the actors take part in promotions. Usually, Nayanathara distances herself from the promotions of her movies. But, the producer hopes to greenlit the project sometime soon.
KS Rama Rao said that a lot of people in this generation watched the film on TV and Youtube. “This film is not for TV but for theatres. That’s why I want to remake it again for the current generation,” revealed Rama Rao.
