Amidst speculations and a few media reports that Rana Daggubati, Sai Pallavi and Priyamani-starrer Virata Parvam would skip theatrical release and would release on OTT directly, the makers have denied the rumours.
The makers have confirmed that the film’s digital rights, Telugu version satellite rights and Hindi-dubbed satellite rights have been sold along with the theatrical rights of the film to distributors. The makers hence denied the rumours of a direct OTT release for the film agreeing that they have made table profits before the film’s release.
Filmmaker, Venu Udugula said “The film is made with an intention to reach all Telugu audience, including people in rural areas. The visuals and stellar BGM is something to be experienced only on big screens. OTT is not something we will ever consider and no matter how long, we are okay waiting to release it in theatres.” The film has stunt masters like Peter Hein and cinematographer from Spain putting their sedulous efforts and it is also one of the reasons for the makers to opt for theatres as the hard work is said to dazzle viewer’s senses like never before.
Virata Parvam is one of the most anticipated Telugu films but the release has come to a halt as the theatres got shut down all over again due to the devastating condition of the second wave of the pandemic. It is learnt that the film’s theatrical rights have been sold to Warangal Sreenu of iSmart Shankar and Valmiki (Gaddalakonda Ganesh) fame. Sources close to Virata Parvam makers confirmed that the film’s theatrical release would be announced once the situation comes to normalcy and the movie releases resume.
Directed by Venu Udugula, Virata Parvam features Rana, Sai Pallavi, Priyamani and Nandita Das in prominent roles. Set against a Naxalism backdrop, Sai Pallavi is seen as Vennela and Rana plays Comrade Ravanna.
