Actor Soon Sood, who proved to have a compassionate and empathetic heart during the course of the coronavirus pandemic, stood tall like a powerful tool for many covid patients out there. And this time, the actor has also shifted his humanitarian focus on the government who was in need of oxygen in the crisis.
Asking for support, the district collector Shri KVN Chakradhar Babu wrote a detailed letter to Sonu Sood narrating the alarming situation of oxygen shortage in Nellore. The actor immediately responded to his request and secured an oxygen generator with a 1.5-tonne capacity that costs around 2 crores.
The collector is said to be an old acquaintance of the actor and he wrote a letter explaining the daily demand of 40 MTs of oxygen to address the needs of 36 Covid Care Hospitals and 24 private hospitals with a bed strength of 2,848 beds including 1,525 oxygen beds and 310 ICU beds.
In his letter, the collector said, “We are receiving 9 MT Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) from Inox, Sriperumbudur, 20 MT from Linde, Chennai, and 16 MT on alternative days from RINL, Visakhapatnam.” He further said that the LMO supply is insufficient and due to the chronic shortage, they could not give hospital admission to patients.
“With a sense of personal gratitude for your service to the nation in distressed times, I seek your intervention to bolster the efforts of the district administration in Covid response, Chakradhar Babu requested. Hearing this, Sonu has set up a Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) plant at the district hospital in Atmakur town of SPSR Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh. The gesture is truly phenomenal as the actor has been able to successfully support many families with his endless generosity and a big heart.
