Police Stops Nikhil When Stepped Out For Medicine Delivery

Published by

Since yesterday, the cops of Hyderabad are being strict during the lockdown hours. They are seizing vehicles if someone is travelling on roads without a proper reason. But what is baffling people is the cops are not allowing essential services in some areas.

The other day, some media reports and videos circulated online showed food delivery boys beaten by cops for allegedly violating ‘lockdown rules’ whereas the government’s GO had allowed food delivery in the original lockdown guidelines. Today, they have stopped the vehicle of actor Nikhil who is travelling to deliver medical supplies.

Nikhil was shocked by the attitude of the cops and shared his experience on social media. He tweeted, “Was on the way to deliver Emergency lifesaving Medicines from Uppal to Kims Minister road… In spite of providing the Prescription and patient details, I was stopped and asked to Get an Epass.”

“Tried 9 times but the server is down…I thought medical emergencies were allowed!!!,” he further added. Not only Nikhil but many other people who are travelling for essential services are also being scrutinized by the Hyderabad police.

Soon after Nikhil’s tweet, Hyderabad City Police’s Twitter handle replied by tweeting, “Dear sir, please share your location, we will inform the concerned/local staff, to get it resolved. Thank you.” Nikhil soon commented that he has DM’ed them the required details.

Nikhil has been helping COVID-19 patients and their relatives in getting medical supplies during this second wave of the coronavirus.
