With a sharp decline in the daily number of Covid-19 cases, the states are bracing up for a phase-wise unlocking. As Maharashtra permitted 50 percent occupancy in theatres, many other states are expected to follow the suit.
Amidst this, Tollywood producers are prepping up for theatrical release of their films. According to sources, producers are planning to release small and medium-budget films in theatres starting from the middle of July.
The small and medium budget films that are lying in the cans for sometime and waiting for the release would be the first ones to see the light of the day after the unlocking.
Nani’s Tuck Jagadish and Naga Chaitanya-Sai Pallavi’s Love Story are being planned for August 2021 release. Both the films were originally scheduled for April release but got postponed at the last minute due to the second wave. The producers of these films are said to have prepared to release their films at the earliest in August.
A formal announcement is expected once the lockdown is lifted. Many other producers are also making a beeline to book their release slot. Vishwak Sen’s Paagal, Rana Daggubati’s Viraata Parvam, Gopichand’s Seetimaarr are in pipeline to hit the screens.
