Remembering Late Sushant On His First Death Anniversary

Published by

A difficult 2020 saw the deaths of many icons across the nation and today marks the first death anniversary of the late Sushant Singh Rajput, who died on June 14, 2020. In the process of sad goodbyes and fighting for justice, it’s been 365 days since SSR left for heavenly abode. Though the grief does not go away, let us hold a memorial in his honour today.

Moreover, it is unfortunate to realize that Sushant got noticed more after his tragic and sudden demise. The posthumous fame he received validates the fact that talent never dies. This scenario preaches us to do our part even if we get discredited because nobody knows what awaits.

The Death That Ended In Uproar:

Sushant’s demise left his fans in shock for a very, very long time. On 14 June 2020, the actor who was 34, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his home in Bandra, Mumbai. He had reportedly shown signs of clinical depression and was suffering from bipolar disorder. The majority of his fans argued that he was killed and the case is a perfect crime. It was called a perfect murder by Bollywood Mafia who also allegedly used political power to erase and destroy all possible evidence. It was argued over the matter that the shreds of evidence were erased so much that even the CBI could hardly draw any inferences and conclusions. Also, the accusations were made that the viscera report has been speculated to be insufficient and inconclusive.

Names That We Heard In Connection With The Case:

For a couple of months, it felt like everyone was earning in the name of the dead because that’s the tragic aspect of our society. The fans were emotionally gullible, we lacked the scientific temperament and were manipulated easily. Many conspiracy theories were tied with several names such as Sushant’s girlfriend at the time, Rhea Chakraborty, Baby Penguin, Mahesh Bhatt, Sidharth Pithani and even the Bollywood Drug Mafia. Amid the chaos, Sushant’s father also filed a case against Rhea for money laundering. And everything has turned bizarre since then.

Posthumous Accolades and Awards:

As the country was still feeling a void left by late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, one of the country’s most eminent awards in entertainment, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, has honoured the star with the ‘Critic’s Best Actor’ accolade in the prestigious award ceremony. And his last released film, Chichhore won the Best Hindi film award at the 67th National Awards. His last film Dil Bechara which got released post the actor’s death has received innumerable accolades and many paid tribute to the actor, including AR Rahman.

Delhi High Court Refuses To Stay Film On SSR:

Just ahead of the film ‘Nyaay: The Justice’, the Delhi High Court this week has dismissed an application filed by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh seeking to restrain filmmakers from using his departed son’s name, lifestyle or likeness in proposed movies. It is said that a single bench of Justice Sanjeev Narula objected to granting an ex-parte, ad-interim injunction to stop filmmakers from using SSR’s name or likeness in their upcoming films or projects.

What’s next?

The early departure of Sushant has unruffled many and is believed to have exposed the true colour of Bollywood Big Daddies. But the discussions and debates on his death seem to never end. When Sushant was alive and actively working in movies, we hardly saw anyone speaking highly about him or his movies. But now, everything’s glorified and it is hard to differentiate what’s right and what’s wrong anymore. It’s not justice or injustice we are talking about, but the harsh truth of how this will also be the history in another year or until we find a new soapbox upon which we can vent. This is the vicious circle of life!

Hope you are in a better place, Sushant…………..until we meet again!
