It has been almost three years since we last saw Anushka Sharma on the big screen. Her last release was Zero which had hit the screens in 2018. Since then, she didn’t announce any project, barring one, which is the biopic of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
Sony Pictures announced this biographical drama in January 2020 and made it official that Anushka will reprise the role of Jhulan. However, the film is yet to go on the sets and there is no trace of it in the news for a really long time. When everyone is thinking that the movie might have been shelved, the sources close to the team revealed that it is very much on.
According to them, the film is under development and is in the scripting stages. Once it is approved, the director will be finalized and Anushka will also start prepping up for it. It will go on the floors only after all these are done.
Meanwhile, Anushka recently gave birth to a baby named Vamika and she is currently accompanying her husband Virat Kohli on an international cricket tour. Considering all the factors, Jhulan’s biopic may start rolling by the end of this year or early next year.
Jhulan Goswami is a star all-rounder in the history of Indian Women’s Cricket. She is the highest wicket-taker in Women’s One Day International Cricket and also the first one to claim 200 wickets in the format.
