Years 2020 and 2021 have left our hearts heavy and bleeding with innumerable deaths worldwide. One among them was the legendary choreographer Saroj Khan, who left for the heavenly abode on July 3, 2020.
On the completion of her first death anniversary, T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar has announced a biopic on Saroj Khan. Bhushan stated that Sarojji revolutionized the choreography scene in Hindi cinema. Describing her immense and irreplaceable talent, he said that Saroj dance forms told stories which helped every filmmaker.
Her essence of dance is to tell a story while tying the viewers with emotions. Recalling her unique prowess of retelling lyrics with her dance movements, Bhushan Kumar said that Saroj dragged audiences to the theatres to see their favourite actors dancing to her steps. “Sarojji’s journey that started as early as a 3-year-old was met with a lot of ups and downs and the success and respect she gained from the industry has to be brought to life. I remember visiting film sets with my father and seeing her bring life to the songs with her choreography. Her dedication towards the art was commendable. I am glad Sukaina & Raju agreed to let us make this biopic of her mother.”
Talking about the biopic, Saroj’s son Raju Khan expressed his happiness and said that he is glad to see Bhushan making a film on his mother, who dedicated her whole life to the dance and film industry. Her daughter Sukaina said that the biopic will hopefully be able to tell Saroj’s inspiring story to the world. People have admired her dance all the years and with the news of her biopic, netizens are looking forward to seeing their dancing icon’s story on big screens.
