Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi Airport in Shamshabad has tightened the Covid-19 regulations amidst the reports of rise in Covid cases. The RGIA administration issued new guidelines on Friday particularly to the international passengers arriving in the city to curb the spread. The guidelines came into effect immediately.
As per the fresh guidelines, all international passengers arriving at the airport must ensure that they are fully vaccinated and provide their vaccination certificates.
Upon arrival, some random international passengers will be tested an RT-PCR test. 2 percent of the international passengers would undergo this. Airlines are going to identify these random passengers and those identified passengers have to submit their samples for the test.
In case of any passengers who test positive on arrival, they will be immediately kept under isolation and will be informed about the isolation protocol. Meanwhile, their samples should be further sent for genomic testing at the designated INSACOG laboratory network.
All international passengers have to mandatorily submit a fully-filled self-reporting form to APHO and a duplicate stamped copy to immigration authorities. The new guidelines have come into force from today at Shamshabad airport.
