Taapsee, who transitioned from South to Bollywood, has carved a niche for herself with performance-oriented roles. However, her luck seemed to change when she landed a role in Shah Rukh Khan’s movie under the direction of the highly successful Rajkumar Hirani. Taapsee portrayed the character of Mannu in their upcoming film, “Dunki.”
Taapsee’s performance in the movie, showcasing her exceptional acting skills, has been widely praised. However, the film itself, which globally premiered on Thursday, failed to make a strong impact, especially evident in its opening day collections.
Falling short of expectations, the film struggled to cross the 30 crore mark, leaving fans and audiences disappointed. The lackluster reception of “Dunki” has been evident not only in the South but also in the North, as reflected in social media discussions.
Taapsee, who had hoped for a hit with “Dunki,” may be disheartened by the film’s lukewarm reception. She also turned a producer this year with the film Dhak Dhak, which also failed at the box office.
On both actor front and production front, Taapsee tasted a failure this year and the road ahead seem rough for her.
